Blinking capslock led with glowing wifi led
Hello,
i need help with my laptop. When i try to turn on him, he just blink with capslock (all time) and wifi is glowing. After a few minutes the screen turns white and this is everything.
I tried:
-cleaning ram
-disconnect ac with battery and press poweron for 15sec.
-bought a new power adapter

Can't boot from USB
Hello. I bought a brand new laptop. I've tryed to install Windows 10 from USB flash drive, but i can't boot it. I've watched a lot of videos on youtube. My Legacy Support is Enabled. In Boot Options Menu there's only "Boot from FFI File" and Notebook Hard Drive - TOSHIBA MQ01ABD100. In the bios, "System Configuration" - Legacy Boot Order my first are USB Diskette on Key/USB Hard disk, anyway i've tryed all of them and nothing. Just can't boot up. And can't use my laptop :/ . I would be very happy if someone help me..

Bad BIOS update released by HP for ProBook 4540s and other issues
Hi,
Let me start with the following statement: ProBook 4540s is great laptop destroyed recently by bad firmware updates and ALSO driver support. Let me remind you that ProBook series is a class of busniess grade products from which I have 2 expectations: to be reliable and have a decent support for newer operating systems like Windows 10.
The bad:
The F67 BIOS update relesed by HP a few months ago has a problem which I didn't experinced by previous system firmware (F66 or F64): sometimes the laptop boots sometimes doesn't. Turn on, the fan spins 1.5 seconds, turn off, sometimes tries to turn on again but sometimes not, taking out the RAM seems to fix it but after a second startup the problem is back. The thing is that I tried testing every RAM module and they are just fine (using HP's own UEFI Diagnostic Tool)...
To make the whole situation even nastier, the BIOS version can't be rolled back using HP UEFI Diagnostic Tool (says bad signature file from USB). I did make the USB with the included utlity from the F66 update package.
So, HP engineers if you are reading this, please give me a way to roll back the BIOS or release a newer version !!!
The ugly:
This laptop has drivers which dates back all the way to 2015 that's almost 3 years ago !!! I know that I can download the latest from Realtek, Intel etc.. but those are generic drivers not made by HP !!! So this can be fixed too with a little effort. Should I remind you that HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor is still in the device manager and says that there is no compatibile driver ? That's just sucks and represents how bad driver support is for this notebook.
After 5 years of using this laptop I still love the keyboard, the somewhat decent screen and the good build quality but if I want a complete experience I need the software part too to be great or decent at least !
HP, please if you can, help me at least with the bad stuff !

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your laptop?
Have you tried checking with a different adapter or different wall outlet?
Please try the steps recommended below.
Turn off the computer.
Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
If your notebook is listed in the table, use the instructions specific to your computer. For all other notebooks, press and hold the Power button for 8-10 seconds.
Plug the AC adapter back into the computer, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
Press the Power button to turn on the computer.
If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, then press the Enter key.
Refer this article to further troubleshoot no power issues.
If the issue still persists after trying out the steps, it is a hardware issue with the laptop.

HP G61 attempted to remove static via you tube tutorial. Possibly wrong. Won't boot
I shut down the labtop, removed the charger & battery. I pressed power for thirty seconds.
Then I plugged both back in and pressed power (This is where I believe I messed up)
No fan. No noise at all. However the light indicating charge is on. It is on with battery alone or battery and charger or just charger The next day I realised the light is on with charger connected but not the battery alone.
When I tried to connect via HDMI there was a clicking.
I literally know nothi g about computers and was moving forward by you tube tutorials onlu.
I then replaced the external battery. Tried making sure the memory sticks didn't jar lose, checked the power by using another charger of the same I know is good. I considered looking for the fuse by the charge port but quickly dismissed that since the light is on when charging.
My only conclusion is I shot something somewhere when I tried to power it on right away but I see no signs of black powder or burnt marks.
Please if anyone knows, enlighten me

HP Pavilion dv6-6b25tx not booting up
Hello,
When I try starting my Pavilion dv6-6b25tx laptop, I sometimes get a flickering screen upto the boot logo of Windows 8.1. After this, the machine automatically goes blank or we should say cuts off, and there is not led blinking signs.
Secondly, when I press power button to start, the cpu fans responds with small spin and the LED in capslock button keeps on blinking, and nothing happens further.
I had tried fixing it myself by dismanteling the laptop and replacing the thermal grease, also I had tried the memory check up steps mentioned in the HP guide, but still the same condition.
Can anybody suggest me what should I do?

EliteBook 6930p does not boot from USB or CD, only SD works

I can't get that EliteBook 6930p booting from a linux live distribution on USB or CD. I tried my favourite Live linux

Current Version: 5.3.2
I run isohybrid on the ISO and write it to an USB stick. I tried 4 Sticks and all of the USB-Ports with no other device connected. It just freezes in the early boot screen and reads on the USB stick forever. I waited 15 minutes. F9 for the boot menu doesn't do anything.
Just with the stick inserted, the device does not boot at all.
The same ISO on a SD card works fine, just there is a bug with booting up that linux from SD failing later without sd support in the kernel...
I tried the same ISO on a CD-R, same like the USB-stick, it reads forever, no boot devices menu.
The installed BIOS is the latest F.20 from 9. Dez. 2011.
I tried enabling all boot options, or disabling all then enabling only a single option like USB. I tried with UEFI enabled and disabled. I also tried a BIOS reset to defaults.
Even if the ISO image on USB isn't valid, it should not freeze on reading.
The same ISO on USB boots fine on a EliteBook 8560w.
Any idea?
