i had set an admin BIOS password on my HP Elitebook 840G1 which i forgot.

please help me with the SMC.BIN file so i may be able to work on my PC.

Hey I’m having the same problem it’s saying enter a “administrator password or power on password” I’ve been locked out of this laptop for months can you help me. The system disabled code is “55497998”

Hello,

 

Bought used laptop HP Elitebook 840 G2 and can't login to BIOS, need administrator password. How can I get it.

Found that there is a way to reset it, but need SMC.bin file. How could I get it?

Notebook won't boot , Black screen says press  f2, on pressing f2 and doing hard dive check  a message says, smart check passed, short DST failed,  Failure ID message says :64Q2K9-7RW99E-XD7WMF-60tv03 Product ID:N9Q81EA#ABU

So basically my laptop fell (and i fell too). When i was attempting to turning on, it said like "hdd verification" or something lime that, then the pc screen turned off and did nothing. I tried to pres many times f12 and open the diagnostic, well it said that there is a problem with the DTS rapid test of hdd secondary ecc... and then from there i do not known what to do( sorry for my English). So please help me, thank you.

Running an HP laptop platform 17-ak0xx w/ Bios vers. F.06 ; Windows 10 Operating Sys:
Dual boot mode - UNIX on separate Disc.
UEFI Boot selection in use.

Machine comes up ->

Boot Device Not Found
Please install an operating system on your hard disk.
Hard Disk (3FO)
F2             Sysatem Diagnostics

<-
Ran the Diagnostic Tests - Memory, HD Checks, both short snd long, all "PASSED".
Followed instructions from HP online support, Virtual Agent - Unsuccessful
Did attempt
    Performed a power reset                                No change
    BIOS reset to default                                         F10/F9    ,,  ,,
    BIOS UPDATE                                                       Unsuccessful (Win logo + B Key method - seemed to fail as it did not enter update mode)
Is there some other corrective steps that I can take?

Is there a way of re-installing the O/S without overwriting the non-system data on the disc?
Or can I save the data to a USB external disc, perhaps w/ a rescue disc made on another Win 10 machine?

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

My netbook has started asking for an administrator or power on password, I haven't set one so have no  idea what it might be

the system disabled code comes up as i 60766358

Any ideas guys?

I have a 2015 HP Spectre x360 and it just recently started making a loud crackling noise on start up. There were no power outages  no damage, it just randomly started up and I'm not sure exactly why. Any suggestions?

We just received a hand me down laptop from a coworker. I set up an email account (outlook) so that I could download Norton antivirus to it from our shared product. Today. I cannot get access to the device because it is saying the password in incorrect. I tried going through Microsoft account services but it is not helping at all. How can I get on the the computer to change the password (that was originally set up correctly.?

Hi, I need help with my Hp notebook model ENVY dv6. It turns on, but stays at a black screen though it is possible to see that screen turns on upon pressing the power button. The bloq mayus key flashes constantly without pattern, the wifi signal (f12) led is on. After about 10 seconds the fan starts working. The notebook will stay the same until turned off.

 

Can anybody help me, please?

Hi, I have a hp notebook that wont POST. You push the power button, the harddrive spins, network light amber solid, CAPS light solid instant power off. The screen is blank. The power light still charges the battery.
