Bios corrupt on HP 15 Notebook
My Notebook is flashing the caps lock x 2 which appears to indicate corrupt bios. It will not load windows, error is black screen "Boot device not found, Please install an operating system on your hard disk. Hard Disk (3F0).
Bios version right now is F.23 (Insyde) Born on date for the laptop is 23 Feb 2015.
Any suggestions?

HP DV7 Starts only after pressing start button 4 or 5 times
My HP Laptop DV7-3185DX will not boot unless I push the start button 3 to 5 times and hold it down. I also have to hold the start button down for about 5 or so seconds on each attempt.
Sometimes while holding down the button it will attempt to start and then shut off. Can anyone tell me if the start button is the problem or something else.
I am 72 years young and cannot afford a new laptop right now.

Windows 7 won't start. Flashing cursor, blank screen
Not sure what happend. May have a bad battery. problem exists with or without the battery. The screen is blank and the curser in the top left of the screen flashes. When I power up, if I keep pressing the F2 key I can get to advanced diagnostics.
Note sure if I have 32 or 64 bit.

HP Pravilion DV 9000 freezing
Please Help Me
My grandson school computer keeps freezing on heavy activity. I think the cooling fan is working because I think I hear it running but is much quieter than my other HP.
I know it is an older laptop and running Vista but it is all we can afford for him. He has Muscular Dystrophy (HD) and it is all we can afford.
Any idea on where to start with doing any type of diagnostics to see what could be wrong?

Charging led blinks once
Laptop is not powering on despite charging.
The laptop charging led blinks just once when i try power on. (not like the usual battery low with some blinks)
I shut down the laptop normally about 12 hours ago prior to this message. No hang ups or hitches while using it at that time.
Now it won't power on. I've tried a hard reset already as well. Please advise

HP Elite X2 / 1012G1 freezes
I have a HP Elite X2 / 1012G1 Tablet PC with Microsoft windows 10, 64bit OS which stops responding sometime and post restarting the device it only start functioning.
Tablet PC Configuration:
Purchase Date
01/08/2016
Configuration
CPU: M7 – 6Y75 / 1.20 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
HDD: 250 GB
Below are the symptoms and troubleshooting done as of now but still the issue continues, please suggest if you have any solution.
Symptoms include:
- Windows stops responding and nothing moves on the computer display.
- The computer does not respond to input from the mouse or keyboard.
- External Monitor goes blank and not responding.
Troubleshooting:
- Unplugged the external monitor.
- Unplugged all the external peripheral devices.
- Replaced the HP C-Docking station with a new one.
- Checked all the device drivers are upto date.
- Updated the BIOS version of the PC.
After doing all the above troubleshooting still the issue continues and within last 15 days the device got hung/freezes 5 times. Please suggest if you have any solutions.

Stream 13 is completely dead, no lights or anything...
Hi
Last night my laptop installed updates and then turned of as usuall. This morning I pressed the power button and nothing happened, the computer is completely dead.
The charger indicater light is not on, I have tried my other power adaptors but still nothing, all the adaptors work on my other HP laptop, so it's not the charger.
I have tried holding the power button down for 15 seconds to perform a hard reset, still nothing happens.
The laptop has an internal battery. The laptop is completeely DEAD. It's about 2 years old.
Any help please, is it repairable or should I just buy another one???

Windows encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer
So my computer won't boot into Windows citing the error above. Windows says there has been an unexpected i/o error. I can't run safe mode either.
I downloaded Easy recovery essentials and it hangs when trying to rebuild the MBR.
Ive been reading a lot online about a virus rewriting part of the MBR or changing the BIOS drive from SATA to something else (something along these lines sorry I'm not a technical expert). The virus theory makes sense as my anti virus did pop up that it blocked an attack the night before this happened.
I've tried a lot to get to the bottom of this and the simplest solution that appears to work for a lot of people appears to be changing the SATA setting around but it looks like that isn't possible on this model?
I'm open to any advice received.

My almost new laptop will not charge or turn on
Hello,
I'm really disappointed with my HP laptop which is not even a year old.
It has hardly been used. I used it last night and it was fine. Today I plugged it in and tried to turn it on.. It was charging and the power button was flashing but it would not turn on.
I left it charging for a while and then returned to try and turn it on. This time when I tried it made a strange noise as though it was literally dying and then suddenly the light behind the power button and the LED that indicates it's charging, both died out.
I have tried taking the battery out, draining the residual energy, using it without a battery.... Nothing.
I suspect it is a problem with the laptop as oppose to the charger as the laptop WAS charging, it just would not turn on.. And after the computer made the dying sound it will not light up at all.
Help would be appreciated. I'm so frustrated as I desperately need to use my laptop right now for work and I am not in a position to buy a new one.

Trouble finding HP specs. for my laptop
Having trouble on HP website finding my specifications for my laptop that is locking up on me.
I am looking for mother board type and manufacture and hard drive info.
A earlier post was answered by someone saying I needed to replace the hard drive. Naturally I want to put back the same hard drive. Can anyone tell me where to find the hard drive specs. From HP for the DV9230US?

SMART Hard Disk error
On start up I get the SMART Hard Disk Error message
I followed the instructions and backed up to an external hard drive
After doing a fast test I got the following message
FAILURE ID: 6CW7G4-7RJ89U-MFPWMF-60CG03
PRODUCT ID - Primary HDD Bay*
I have had this error message for about a month while I was on holiday and the laptop has been working fine except for coming up with this message

Hard drive errors with failed UEFI test
My notebook started having problems, showing the sad smiley face saying that the computer ran into a problem and needs to restart. The blue screen showed the following exception: UNEXPECTED STORE EXCEPTION
The next boot fails with a "Boot Device not Found... Hard Disk (3F0)" black screen.
Only after a hard reset the computer is able to boot into windows, only to have the same problem happen again every 15 minutes or so.
I ran the UEFI Hard Disk check, which resulted in the following failure ID: 9K58QC-6NW89U-MFPX0K-60R403
Would appreciate your help
