Hello,
I purchased my notebook in Jan-2017 & just before my warranty was up - I began experiencing the issue where after my laptop was closed and then re-opened the power light would blink and the laptop would not start-up. I would have to power down and power back up. This got progressively worse to the point where the laptop would not turn on. I sent it in for warranty service (just before warranty expiration) & received it back a few weeks later (Feb-2018). Fast forward to Oct-2019; identical issue again as in 2018, at which point I stopped using the laptop and started to use my wife's. Tried in the coming months after to raise a ticket indicating the original issue had not been resolved but my case was abruptly closed.
Not so much looking for a fix (at this point) - as I've tried everything and have accepted that I was sold a lemon & doubt at this point HP will hold themselves accountable for an inferior product. I was a light user of the laptop on average maybe 2hrs/week (used my phone for most things) and even with minimal usage this $1,000 product could not hold up. Understanding that technology today has a short lifecycle......I probably got about 1.5 years out of what is essentially a paper weight at this point. I could live with that if it weren't for the fact that I went back to using my Acer Aspire (from 2011) which saw alot more usage, had been dropped and had a variety of liquids spilt on it. And other than the malfunctioning V key and the fact that its a bit of a monster (w/ regards to weight)...my Acer is functioning as good as it was on day 1.
Anywho....if anyone has any tips on how i might salvage this Envy let me know - otherwise its going to recycling.
Sincerely from my 8 year old Acer
