Hello All,

 

I have HP Pavilion p-003tx touchsmart laptop. I am planning to switch over from the basic Sata HDD 5400 RPM to an SSD (Solid State Drive) to achieve maximum best performance as the present condition of my laptop has gone from bad to worse if I have to talk about its performance.

 

So, I am planning to buy an SSD either of Western Digital or Sandisk or Sony. Can anybody over here can suggest whether my laptop supports SDD and if it does than, which SDD shall I purchase? Is there any particular model among these 3 companies which will suit best for my HP Pavilion laptop? I am looking out for a capacity of either 250GB or 500GB...

-My USB ports were working inconsistently. Sometimes they would work immediately, sometimes they would work after 10 mins, sometimes they wouldn't work at all.

 

-I updated bios, OS and chipset drivers. I believe the problem is sometimes BIOS is not giving power to USB ports at startup. Strange thing is %80 of the time, when USB ports don't work, i shut down the pc. When i shut down the pc usb ports start working for 3 seconds (it charges my phone) then they stop. When i boot up my pc, it doesn't work.

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-Bit)

Hi HP experts & all others,

 

I plugged  new SSD "Corsair Force Series MP510 NVMe PCIe Gen3  x4  M.2  SSD"  and the laptop just shows:

"Boot device not found

Please install an operating system on your hard disk.

Hard Disk (3F0)"

 

When I run the system diagnostics and do a hard drive check the laptop says "No hard drive installed. Please check that the power and data cables are connected properly."

I have already to reseated the SSD and no luck, when I tried swapping back to the old SSD it still works perfectly.

 

The new SSD is clearly not faulty as I'm able to see all the files on it and the laptop is able to see and read it via the adaptor. I tried running the laptop in legacy boot mode but no luck.

 

It's been driving me crazy for the last 4 days, any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated. I don't see any reason why this SSD is not supported by the motherboard

I have forgotten the bios password which prevents Windows from being loaded. I need to get a recovery password so I can access computer OS.

I have a brand new HP Probook 440 G6 for my small business. I must have set power on authentication on during initial set up about a week ago. But I don't have a note of any password (honest don't remember setting any for this), but have written down every other password and spare key and pin etc. This is not my first rodeo. I even restarted the computer a couple times last week, but then had to put it down for a few days and today I am stuck on the Power-On Authentication screen. Right now this is a brick - am not a happy bunny!!

 

I cannot even figure out how to get in touch with HP, cos there are a few posts saying BIOS recovery help will not be given on these forums.

 

Any ideas?

So i woke up this morning went to turn on my laptop for work and the **bleep** thing wont turn on.  All i get is the amber charging light when the power cord is plugged in.  Worked fine last night.  I called  HP tech Support went through the trouble shooting text and the tech on the phone said it was Broken and i needed to mail it in and the it would cost over $600 to fix.  WHAT THE HELL!!!!! I just bought the thing a year and a half ago and it wasn't cheap and now it is dead.  That is some crap apple pulls didn't think it a trusted company like hp would do this to me. I have been purchasing HP products since the 90s. I feel betrayed to have to spend half the cost of the laptop to fix something that shouldn't have happened anyway.  He wouldn't even tell me what was wrong.  Is it the battery? Is it the Motherboard?  I can replace a battery but this is a rip off and im worried its a scam cause This seems to be a common issue with the spectre series.   I FEEL FULLY BETRAYED!!!

Made the terrible mistake last night.of plugging my new ,cheap, wireless phone charger into my laptop USB instead of finding and adapter and plugging it into a wall outlet. When I plugged the phone charger into my open and functioning HP Pavillion 15 Notebook..it immediately shut down , the power button light extinguished, and it hasn't turned on since. I spoke with HP tech last night who tried his bag of tricks from India but no go. I opened the puter and removed the battery to see if would boot up using only the hp charger..it did not. I don't know WHAT I fried...but I love this pavillion and wish I could come up with a solution with my meager knowledge. Any ideas out there ??

My laptop has not been used for a while and now I cannot log on to it. I never assigned a PIN but now it wants one. I have tried  using my Microsoft account password, but that doesn't work either. Any suggestions? It is a HP Stream

My HP 10-p010nr notebook windows 10 updated overnight and now all it do is restart to the logo and goes light blue blank and restart. Could it be there is not enough storage or is the battery going bad? I have tried everything, even tried to factory reset  and it wont let me do a recovery. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

I have HP notebook PC 2000 series when I go in boot menu by pressing f9 key when my PC is booting i will come I boot menu and my laptop start beeping until I press any key and same problems I face in bios menu

I have a hp notebook serial number 5CD6124TP5, I don't remember my password and don't have a reset disc. How can I reset my password without one?  I am unsure what version of windows is on the laptop.

When I power up it goes straight to enter administrators password or power on password and then after 3 in trees of the wrong passcode it says invalid password and comes up with system disabled in a code reading   i   84353162 

Could anyone help me with bios code???
