Getting error "Unable to open BIOS signature file" while recovering BIOS on HP Pavillion dv6

Hello Everyone

 

My HP Pavilion dv6 refused to boot into Windows one day, after restarting I got code BIOS error 501and it said press enter to reboot, after doing that the notebook just get stuck on Preparing Automatic repair, I cant even reinstall windows with USB. After spending countless hours searching web for the solution I've learned that BIOS can be recovered by 4 -in-1 USB utility provided on HP's website I went ahead and created one and booted it while pressing F2 on start-up went to Firmware Management and started BIOS update but with no luck I got this error "Unable to open BIOS signature file" the BIOS of my machine is present in the USB library with the .SIG (signature) file. Please help I dont know what to do next...

Hp Omen 15 Random Boot Device Not Found

Hi, I’m having an issue where I can’t start my HP Omen 15 Win10 64 laptop.

I bought it secondhand for a pretty penny. I found that it only charged when the screen was off such as in sleep mode or off, never when being used.

Anyway, this past Friday, I was using it normally to do Illustration work until it ran out of battery power. It shut off but I had to leave and didn’t charge it over the weekend. The following Monday, the startup was taking too long and I get a black screen saying

“Boot Device Not Found
Please install an operating system on your hard disk.
Hard Disk (3F0)
F2 System Diagnostics”

I can enter:
-F7 Hp Sparekey Recovery
-F9 Change Boot Device Order
-F10 BIOS Setup Option

Almost nothing works:
-F11 recovery mode takes me back to this screen.
-F2 System Diagnostics tells me I have Version 1.11.0.0 - BIOS,
-Memory Check tells me everything is fine,
-Hard Drive Check doesn’t work as it tells me SMART Check and Short DST are NOT
-Holding The B key+ Windows key only makes the screen go black and the caps lock light blink without stopping

I didn’t have any outstanding issues before this. Is my hard drive really fried and gone?

Notebook shuts down immediately when the power lead is unplugged - Battery at 100%

Hi there.

 

I bought a new laptop battery recently and it was working perfectly. However, all of a sudden I have this issue where the laptop shuts down immediately as soon as the power lead is removed.

 

I have performed a battery cfg check and all appears fine (to me), so I can't work out what is causing this.

 

Any help?

I Pulles out my mouse last night and my laptop screen just went black and it starter to make an high pitch noise kinda like a beeping. The laptop doesnt respond to anything i think Its dead

i started my laptop after getting home then all of a sudden it pulls up the windows rocovery screen then i shut down i let it chargethen i does the samething over and over snd when i click recovery it says in stall the os again

I recently tried to install unbuntu via bootable program. Result was NTLDR is missing when I tried to reboot win 10. 

Trying to fix this made thing worst because I did not undersand  what my bias supported. My machine is a Pavilion g7-1279dx, Bios F.66. After looking at the bios I saw no reference to UEFI mode, so I'm assuming it supports only Bios mode. I going to try to wipe the disk clean using Diskpart in Pe mode. Any suggestions on how I should proceed would be apprcieated . And how find out with certainty UEFI or Bios mode before wipe and rebuild my hard drive. NOTE REPAIR DISK FAILS DUE TO HARD DRIVE PROBLEMS.

compaq CQ62 screen won't turn on with stuck caps lock flashing

Hey there. I have just replaced the mobo in a CQ62-417NR, and when I try to start it, I get a flashing Caps Lock. Fan is running, Power Button is lit. But nothing else is happening.

 

Any ideas?

Probook 450 G1 won't power on

The machine will not power on.  The LED that is next to the charging connector is flashing.  It does this whether or not the charger is connected.  If the battery is removed, it will stop.

I have tried starting the machine without the battery in place but with the charger connected - - still no luck.

I have tried to do the hard reset - - hold power button down for 15 sec. without battery or charger connected - - no luck.

 

Any other ideas ??

AFTER THE ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD WAS GIVEN TO ME, THIS WAS THE NEXT THING IT DISPLAYED. AND WHEN I PRESS ESC, IT REFER ME TO USING BOOTABLE DEVICE AND IT STILL WONT WORKED. PLEASE HELP

HP Sceptre X360 Died! How many others have had this premature failure of their expensive laptop?

I wanted to take a poll of how many of you have experienced a problem with getting your HP laptops to power up.  This seems to be a widespread issue with many HP laptops.  For me it was my Sceptre X360.  Apparently their is a design flaw with HP's motherboard.  Perhaps their is more power in numbers.  Please contact me or post your specific issue here for others to follow.

Slow boot times all of a sudden

Hello,

 

My computer restarted by itself for the first time since April yesterday, and since then, it has been taking > 5 minutes to get to the login screen whenever I restart, whereas it used to take only seconds. It is just spinning on the HP logo. I've done a reset of Windows, clean boots, superfetch optimization, Windows performance tool logging (only shows 29 seconds to login), but I haven't been able to make any headway on this. What is happening while the little dots are spinning in a circle with the HP logo, as this all happens prior to Windows logging any events or activities?
