Hello,
I Have OMEN 15 (model 2017) and my solution is turn off showing baterry remaining time in BIOS. When I turned it off the problem solved.
Hello there.
(sorry, theres no Workstation Board to post this)
I have this Z820 Workstation, with Centos 7.2 S.O. AutoDESK Modification. It was working well until last week, the machine was trasnladed to another office and there was this noise inside, I opened the case and a graphic Card cooler was broken. I removed this card, and boot the machine.
The bios said,
110 - Out of memory space for option ROMS.
The option ROM for the following device was unable to run due to memory constraints. If you choose to continue, one or more PCI devices may not work properly
I repaired the cards cooler, and re install on the pci slot. at boot, the error remains.
I tried disabling the Pci Slot 3 from bios, and the problem stills... then I tryed to disabling Pci Slot 4,5 and 6... And the error stoped.
Then I realized that there was something wrong with a Fiber Card on the Slot 4... I removed this card, resintalled the graphic card, and disabled Slot 4 on BIOS
At boot, there was No error no more... BUT...
Now, when it pass to load O.S., it shows a black screen with a blinking cursor.
I Already tried to install diferent O.S. by booting from a no EFI USB, My BIOS is set on legacy mode from the beggining.
I've fromated, I've cleaned the MBR , installed GRUB2, No windows, or linux O.S. can boot from SATA0
I replaced the 205GB SATA disk with a 1TB SATA Disk, and boot from usb again.. The Workstation Doest boot the O.S.
Ii realized that BIOS can see SATA0 Disk, then I checked Boot Order, USB Drive, and CD SATA1 are elegible for boot, but BIOS doesnt recognize SATA0 as a booteable device.
What can I do with this?
any ideas?
Please help.
I have had my PC for over 2 years but due to illness, I have not been able to set it up until now. I have not been able to work since then either so I would rather not have to pay for tech support from HP. I dont have the extra cash.
I have WIndows 10 and when the laptop goes to sleep or hibernates, I cannot wake it up without completely restarting my laptop.
I have tried going into the Device manager for the keyboard power management option to allow this device to wake computer, but that option does not exist on my laptop.
I would appreciate input from anyone who knows what I am dealing with and can provide some guidance.
Thank you
Trying to get into my older HP Notebook - 17-x031ds PN:Z4N66UA and keep receiving a blue dialog box telling me to input Administrator password or Power on password and I cannot recall setting one after going through the dialog box several times and receiving several error messages and finding nothing online I decided to check in here
error code [ i 77312026 ]
I have a laptop HP 17-x115dx laptop that is asking for an 'Administrator Password or Power On Password' after flashing/updating the BIOS. After 3 invalid password entries, I receive a System Disabled message with [I 59493696]
I assume this is a hash key for some back door algorithm, but it begins with 'i' and so bios-pw.org is no help. I should've known better than to update BIOS via HP site, but I was worried about the Spectre/Meltdown issues.
Can you please help? I can't get into BIOS or boot my laptop. Serial number is 8CG6444JB2 if that helps.
Thank you in advance.
Hp update utility popped up a messahe last night about important updates, one of which was a BIOS update, Knowing that Spectre and Meltdown microcode updates are being pushed hard by security we went ahead and allow3ed the update, it claimed it completed successfull and the laptop rebooted, ever sicne, just a blank screen.
I have followed all rcommendations on: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-11-k100-x360-convertible-pc/8499314/model/8961275/document/c02693833
I have also disconnected the battery and cmos battery and let the machine sit for several minutes befoore putting it back together and restarting, same results though.
The only difference is when i try a USB key recovery BIOS... with that I get a 2 sow flash followed by 2 quick flash on caps lock key, which indicates a corrupted bios, which i alreayd know, I suspect it cannot read the USB key, which I recreated twice to make sure it was not the key.
What else shoudl I try since it wa an HP Update that BRICKED this machine.....
hard drive fails diags, need to replace, how do I get the software system came with
My Spectre 13-4002dx purchased June 2015 stopped working midprocess and will not restart. I have read that this is happening to others. Is HP making any provisions for users of this model? I purchased this more expensive device to avoid such issues!
Hello, Randomly when i was playing a vidoe game my laptop had shut off and ever since i have been unable to turn it back on. It was plugged in and charging while i was on it. I have already tried replacing the battery and using it without the battery and only relying on the AC adaptor as sa power source. Nothing seems to be working.
Hello there,
A while back, I was on my laptop (HP Pavilion 11-n200 x360 Convertible PC) doing some web browsing, then running a few programs, just the everyday use. After a while, my computer suddenly started flashing (the screen was blacking out then turning grey then blue), and after a while, it kept going and it was also beginning to overheat, then it shut down on its own.
After about a day, I attempted to turn on my computer, but the power button began to glitch and the computer fan was running at a high speed, and the computer began to overheat again.
Now, when I try turning it on, the power button doesn't even light up anymore, but the internal parts of my laptop seem to be functioning.
Is there any way I could get my computer to work again?
When I changed my hard drive of my system after the DAT come with it got damage . I insert new hard drive but not booting
Looking to buy a bunch of HP 250 G6 2SY33ES but cannot see anywhere if this model supports PXE booting or not. Anyone able to confirm?
Hi I have a question about this specific problem. When I turn on notebook, it shows me that Product information is not valid.
System board (00A) - Board CT number invalid or missing
with this problem, another problem is occurred. Notebook is not charging... Only when notebook is turned off, battery is charging, but in windows... nothing. I searched and found this problem is known, but no solution helped me. I tried DMI Tools (HPBC375.exe). Following instructions, I found CT Number printed on mainboard (14 chars) and with DMI tools, "write information to EEPROM".
When I display system informations in DMI tools, it shows the same CT number I've write down, but immediately after starting the notebook, it Shows me Board ID - "HP" and Board CT number - "HP". So I'm stuck here...
In DMI Tools I have only CT Number option, but no Board ID ...
I tried flash BIOS and it helped.... No allert shown, windows started, battery charging and working fine... after restart, the problem has returned. I tried flashing bios again, but after first flash, I have never accomplish neither the same result as in my first try. BIOS is latest F.24 version
Mainboard is original, not changed. I can't unfortunately tell when this happend, because the notebook is used by more users.
Please can somebody help me ? Thanks
I login to my laptop, logs in and then loads desktop but keeps saying offline and logs me into a temporary profile.
It's never happened to me before first time anything has happened, help?
Hi All, My notebook -15-ay041wm HP laptop will not power. I was working on it yesterday afternoon and everything was fine. I shut it down and when I opened it again it wouldn't start up. I am still under warrenty. What's the best way for me to get this trouble shot and fixed?
Hi All,
After a recent win update (KB4023057) in Dec my laptop started having boot up problems. Cold starts, restarts and wake from hibernation was stopping on a black screen but you could see and hear it attempting to start over and over again. It would eventually start, however the time it takes to do so is increasing significantly and I'm afraid it will go to sleep and never wake again.
I did a complete recovery of win 10, and reinstalled win updates, hp updates, reinstall drivers, etc. and the problem persists, my research at microsoft says it's an issue with HP and the AMD processor.
Can anyone help me please?
Thank you,
Brenda
I have a Envy 13-d053sa that i've had for about 1 year now with no problems, but for the last couple of weeks now when the battery level gets low enought to bring up the on screen warning to plug a power supply in, the said warning appears on screen and within 1 second the computer shuts down.
I have checked the bios and the fan is set to always on, and within windows i've used the hp support assistant to check the battery for any faults and it says the battery is ok and working fine.
I'm running windows 10 64bit, which is up to date and also the hp support assistant shows my pc is up to date with any drivers or bios updates.
Other than the above problem the pc works perfect.
Anybody know what might be the problem???
Not sure if this is relevant, I also have a hp stream 11 laptop running windows 10 64bit which is up to date and also the hp support assistant is up to date, and when the battery level gets low enough it gives you about 1 minute to plug the power supply in, like it's supposed to, yet on my envy laptop it immediately shuts down, but it never used to do this.
Thanks
