I have encountered a strange issue with this 4530s Probook when trying to power it up. It has an intermittent fault which means you can try to power it on and it does nothing. Then if you come back the next time, the unit won't power on, it just sits there totally dead!
I did a discharge on it, all peripherals removed, battery and power lead removed and power button held down for 30s-60s. This seemed to have cleared the issue and it worked fine. I updated all drivers, BIOS etc to the latest versions and it ran like a dream. I ran extensive burn-in tests, diagnostics and they all passed with flying colours.
The machine was given back and when our friend turned it on, well it wouldn't turn on? :smileyfrustrated:
What else can I try, could it be a switch issue?
Thanks to all
