HP9700 bought new worked for less than a year. Started the lights on no post boot cycle until battery removed. Research shows this piece of crap has an issue with the video chip overheating and going fubar. Hence no boot. Replaced the motherboard about $80 worked great for about 4 months until same problem again. So heres the fix. Take the HP lap top outside into your driveway and smash the junk with a sledge hammer and never ever buy another HP product. Problem solved.
