14-z010nr wireless connection re-set hangs the computer

I recently bought the new HP Stream laptop.  I am having trouble with the wireless networking.

After connecting to my home wireless access point (provided by CenturyLink) and using the computer for a while, I lose my internet access.  When I try to re-set the network connection (either directly by disconnecting and re-connecting or by using the MS network troubleshooter), the computer locks up and has to be forcibly rebooted.

Anyone else have this problem?  Have you found a solution?
