Elitebook workstation behaving like a pentium 2

Hi I have an Elitebook 8560w mobile workstation. I am a 3d artist and usually use this machine for 3d modeling and rendering.  I was performing a render and suddenly every thing stops (OS is Wndows 8.1). 
I installed a fresh window but after that its started behaving like a pentium 2.
Please help
