Powers off immediately after a startup, try again it powers up fine

I have a new HP Envy 17-J184na laptop, I was trying to get my SSD drive to work in this laptop but gave up trying to get the recovery software to install as it doesn't recognise it.

As part of trying to get the SSD to work I disabled the secure boot in the UEFI (BIOS).

As I gave up I re-enabled the secure boot and then reverted back to the original hard disk that shipped with the laptop.

But now when I power up the laptop the HP logo appears and then it powers off, if I then press the power button again the laptop boots into Windows no problem albeit seemingly a little slower than previously. This therefore suggests to me that there is an issue with the hybrid boot facility in Windows 8.1.

Has anyone else had this, if I power off using a command prompt it boots up fine from a cold boot, but then if I start it up after a normal hyrbid shut down it fails first time each time.

I'm wondering if there could be some corruption perhaps in the hiberfil.sys and if I disable the hibernate option then re-enable it whether this will rectify the problem.

Has anyone else ever had this problem?
