Hi all,
I've just bought a factory refurbished laptop, but now the laptop seems to be stuck at the windows 8 setup. I've been staring at just the rotating cursor (as if it actually is loading something) for hours now, there's nothing else on the screen. Not sure if it's installing any windows updates or so, but nothing has changed over the last 3 hours.
Laptop model:
HP Envy TouchSmart Sleekbook – m6-k125dx – E0K48UA (Factory Refurbished)
Stuck after step 4.8 of the following manual:
Step 4: Setting up Windows 8 --> 4.8:From the bottom of the Settings screen, select Use express settings (HP recommended) to install important and recommended Windows updates and security features.
After I customized the settings and clicked next, it went through some installation, it had the text on the screen (last text on screen was probably 'Almost Ready', but since then I've been staring at this loading icon.
Does anyone know if it can actually take hours after this step (I can read the step as 'it will install Windows updates right after you click proceed', and who knows how many updates there are...), or is it actually stuck? If the former, how many hours might it take? If the latter, is there anything I can do to resolve this?
I appreciate the help!
Kind regards,
Tom
