Dear All,
Just bought a perfect looking Elitebook 8730w with 6 GB RAM and a 80 GB SSD.
Unit starts perfectly with the AC adaptor attached but refuses to load the loginscreen with a battery only startup.
It only shows a blackscreen and I can only turn the unit off and restart with the AC adaptor attached.
Then it says of course that Windows was shutdown unexpectedly.
No warning LED's come on when starting on the baatery all other LED's are normally on.
Battery tests okay just as all the tests I performed with the HP BIOS
I've searched for answers on this forum and on the Internet and I even installed UEFI so I could boot from the GPT partition on my HD as recommended at some forums for particular this model but it still refused to boot up properly with the battery.
The seller refuses to take it back (still paid $ 450,00 for it) because he claims it worked perfectly when he had it and of course he lies.
I'm running Windows 7 Professional from a original HP Install Disk with the original Windows license.
Any suggestions?
