Hello everyone,
I've had a weird issue on a dv6-3216us that I bought from a friend. Everytime the laptop normally goes into sleep mode using the Windows 7 default power settings, when i press a key on the keyboard or move the mouse all power to the laptop shuts off. Then 5 seconds later the laptop powers back on and boots letting me know Windows failed to shut down properly and giving me the choices to boot Windows normally or go into safe mode, etc.
This happens every single time. I have reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled a basic copy of Windows 7 from my retail disc I have for another computer, without installing any other software. The problem only seems to happen when I have the Intel HD video drivers installed which seemingly allow it to go into sleep, then the shut off coming out of sleep happens.
I have BIOS F.29 installed as well, and all hardware tests just fine. Memtest indicates memory is OK, etc.
Any ideas on what in the world is going on?
