Touchpad/cursor freezes every few minutes - HP - 15-d007se

Hey,

I just purchased this product yesterday and only had the time to switch it on today. Right from when i started the laptop up, i've had this issue where the touchpad/cursor freezes up and stops responding for 2-4 seconds, this happens every few minutes. Anyone know what the issue is and how i can fix it? i've updated the bios as per HP support assistants advice and have messed around with the Synaptics software, non of which helped.
