Hello, I'm new to the forums, and don't have much experience with malfunctioning HPs! I would be grateful for any insight you all might offer.
My friend has a Pavilion g7-1322nr notebook. It has begun beeping when it is turned on, and it will neither stop beeping nor allow access to bios (that I can find) nor load the operating system.
When turned on:
The power led turns on, stays on, and doesn't blink. It is a white led.
The fan and hard drive turn on.
The cap lock led turns on, turns off, turns on, and then turns off. for good. It is a white led
The internet led turns on, stays on, and doesn't blink. It is a red led.
The num lock led turns on, stays on, and doesn't blink. It is a white led.
The laptop beeps continuously with no pause. It does not stop beeping until the notebook is powered off. Neither the rythm nor the pitch of the beeps varies.
The screen is dark except for a blinking cursor at the lower left of the screen.
Does this mean the system board (mother board) and/or the cpu has failed? It doesn't seem to be a bios error code?
Not looking forward to telling this to my friend, who thought the keyboard had just come loose. I haven't got that far in checking connections inside the notebook. All I have done is try to turn the thing on, be confounded at that with the above happenings, and then remove the battery and power cord, blow compressed air in the vents and fan, and reseat the ram memory. I did try holding the power button down while the battery was removed and the notebook unplugged, then plugged the notebook in with the battery out and turn the notebook on again. No change in the notebooks behavior.
