Hello,
I am unable to login to my BIOS page as I forgot my password. I request you to provide me SMC.bin file to erase the old password.
Thanks in advance.
Trying to allow laptop to boot up when plugged in. It seems a common setting in BIOS is "Wake on AC" which I am trying to enable. Unfortunately I cannot find this setting or any other power setting in the BIOS even after I have accessed the "Hidden" advanced BIOS options. Is it called something in these options or am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have spent a ton of time googling this to no avail. At the end of the day I would like to use this laptop to run a separate project I am controlling from this pc, and I would like the PC to boot up on seeing outside power. The power button for the laptop will not be available once project is completed.
BIOS is InsydeH20 Rev 3.5.
OS is windows 7 (64-bit)
I can't remember my administrator password. I tried three times and get a system disabled #56994399
I was working on schoolwork on my laptop last night and it was working fine, no signs of it going out anytime soon. I closed my laptop to take some time off and when I opened it back up and tried to turn it on, the screen showed a light black screen as if it was powering on, and the screen just went black all of a sudden. I tried holding the power button and the LED light flashed signaling that the laptop is on, charging light still shows. When I hold the power button to turn it off, the light turns off, when I try to turn it on the light turns on but the screen remains blank with nothing on it, no fan noise or anything, just black screen and an LED power light.
So I have been attempting to boot from a usb drive but I can not find anywhere in settings to enable legacy mode to allow it to do so.
Hello,
I bought a second hand EliteBook 2570p. and when i went to enable virtualization in the bios i was met with a BIOS password. After some googling i found i need a special bin.sbc file. Can anyone help me with this?
Kind regards,
B.
We bought this laptop through Costco because our old Lenovo decided to literally off itself one day when the HDSSD failed and it was to much the hastle to replace the drive after finding out you needed to take the keyboard out to get into the motherboard tray. We ended up killing it. So we bought this, and it had been 100% fine until today, my mom went to boot it up and nothing... won't boot at all, as if it's bricked. Power light comes on but nothing else. I tried a power reset but unfortunately this laptop is sealed so I can't get inside to disconnect the battery and try again. I have a feeling it got a power surge, or a update from Windows that bricked it. Even my HP when it fried itself still worked.
My laptop ( HP EliteBook 8460p ) uses only 3GB ram out of 8GB (2x4GB)
I was told to update my BIOS so that windows 10 x64 could use all 8GB of RAM.
However, I cannot do so, because I have set a password to the bios a few years back and I have forgotten that password.
I tried the following but nothing worked:
1- Shut down then Startup while holding (START button + B key) = Black screen + super noisy fan
2- Shut down then Startup while holding (START button + V key) = Nothing happens (normal boot)
3- HP Sparekey Recovery ( F7 ) - ERR = ( not enrolled )
4- Installed the following:
a- SP110939.exe = HP Support Assistant
b- SP101995.exe = System Software Manager
c- SP107705.exe = BiosConfigUtility
d- SP85528.exe = HPQFlash
Tried different times the option to create a USB flash drive to update BIOS on another HP pc.
ERR = Required HP UEFI BIOS Update utilities are not available in source or destination folder
5- Cannot find any BIOS, FIRMWARE, etc.... in the Device Manager to update
*** I have tried many other solutions, but most of them seem unrelated or not worth mentioning here.

- I need to reset my BIOS password in order to update the BIOS.
OR
- Make my laptop use all the RAM installed and keep the old BIOS.
Good afternoon! Tell me how to set up bios for a normal slave of two ssd. I installed windows 10pro, the laptop boots normally, if the second ssd 2.5 is installed via sata, the laptop enters the bios and windows boots for 5 minutes (I tried to change ssd to hdd, the problem remains). Please tell me how to set up a laptop for normal operation of two disks. I want to understand the problem in hardware or software. Thanks to everyone who responded.

Hi, I have a problem with my HP Pavilion x2-10-n200nl. When I try to turn it on, a screen appears indicating the low battery and the red charge led flashes. Even if I charge the computer for 2/3 hours, that screen still appears. The only way to turn on the computer is to wait for the charge led to turn white (sometimes it happens after 5 minutes, sometimes after 5 hours) and I can only use it while it's charging otherwise the battery goes from 100% to 0%. I changed the battery 2 years ago and it worked initially, but after a month the problem returned.
I apologize for my english but I'm Italian.
Hi!
Two days ago I made a larger Windows XP update (it took about an hour). The laptop started and I made a new update checkup and was suggested to make another update, which I did. After that my laptop didn't start, not even after rebooting it.
What happens when I turn it on is that the power light comes on, but the screen stays black and nothing happens. I can hear some low noise (fan?) but nothing else happens. The computer do turn warm beneath after a while.
Grateful for help!
