BSOD after waking up from sleep mode with SPUVcbv64.sys error

I've had this problem since I bought this laptop new and while using the Windows Hello feature to sign in after waking up the laptop from sleep mode and while having the option "Automatically dismiss the lock screen if Windows recognizes your face" turned on.

It doesn't happen every time but more often lately than before.  I'd get the BSOD with the  SPUVcbv64.sys error, the laptop would restart and all my unsaved work would be gone. I've contacted HP support in the past and they helped me to update BIOS to F.40, 4/25/2019 and the driver for HP TrueVision FHD RGB-IR to version 3.6.8.8 (Driver date 3/29/2018) but still I got the same error and blue screen today.

I've checked HP Support Assistant and Windows update and everything is up to date. Windows 10 Home Version 1903.

Is there another fix for this error?

HP 3005pr USB3 Port Replicator - not able to PXE boot from the replicator NIC

Hello guys,

We have a number of HP 3005pr USB3 Port Replicators in the org and we have SCCM/ConfigManager environment to deploy OS. With this particular model of port replicator we are not able to Boot into the PXE, get an IP and fetch the boot image to start the OSD process. We have the boot image injected with the latest "DisplayLink Network Adapter NCM driver" downloaded from the DisplayLink website [Ver. 9.2.2057.0]. By using the Laptop's own NIC/port it picks up the IP and does everything as it is supposed to, but not with the replicator connected to the network.

We have no problem whatsoever with any other port replicators to PXE boot. Is this something any of you have come across? Any solution or idea is welcome.

Thanks,

MR

HP Pavilion Laptop 14-ce00068st

Windows 10

Motherboard Model: G7A-2G   DA0G7AMB6D1 REV:D

Laptop mysteriously booted to an Administrator Login screen one day. At the same time was dealing with a desktop and cell phone that was compromised by a unknown person. Since there was never a password set prior, the Windows login password was attempted and failed.

I first attempted a CMOS reset however the normal laptop battery was all I could locate (no usual round battery like in older laptops and desktops) and no reset terminal were found on the motherboard. I took time to scan the hard drive from another computer just to see if any threats would be detected. I did notice a new user account created around the same time as the issue first started. The other user accounts were devoid of all personal files including pictures and documents.

I then attempted the Windows +B /power button and the Windows +V /power button reset options. The BIOS went through the reinstall process and once completed I was still locked out by the Administrator password. I have to assume the BIOS restore file was corrupted or compromised ( I believe the BIOS restore files is actually read from the drive-not 100% but recall reading that). THE CMOS option I was unsure if it worked properly as I never did hear any beeps (which I think take place prior to the CMOS reset).

I tried to use the lockout code you get after three failed attempts and then used the code generator on another site which I found links to in other post on the forums here (others seemed to have had success with it). I was never able to get it to work and not sure if I could since there was no place to type in the code. I even tried the phantom typing and then hitting the return key hoping perhaps it would work. Still no positive results.

I am unsure what I can attempts at this time to gain back access and could use some expert help.

Thanks!

I don't why i did this but I removed both the memory sticks from the computer and put them back in. Now when I try to turn on the computer, the power light just blinks and it doesn't turn on. I tried hard resetting but to no use. Then I removed one of the RAM sticks and now when I turn it on, the fan starts blowing at full speed like a hairdryer but the screen remains blank. Any help is greatly appreciated.

System Fan (90B) error on fanless system!

 ‎04-18-2018 08:33 PM - edited ‎04-18-2018 08:53 PM

Product: HP 250 G4 Notebook PC

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7(64-Bit)

My laptop goes to an error as soon as I turn it on. The error reads:

Continued operation is not recommended and may cause unpredictable behavior that could result in random shutdown, data loss or possible system damage. The system will shutdown in 15 seconds. To prevent shutdown and continue operation, press the Enter key now.

The system has detected that a cooling fan is not operating properly.

System Fan Error (90B)

ENTER - Continue Startup

For more information, please visit: www.hp.com/go/techcenter/startup

This laptop was designed  like the passively cooled... with no fan.

There is no fan to function properly nor improperly!

I have cleaned and replaced the Heatsink Thermal Compound

no change

I have replaced AC adapter for new one. (old 19.75V  new 19.4V)

no change

I have run the battery test by pressing F12 (PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI Window)

no change

I have updated the BIOS from F.1E to F.1F

no change

I still got the error message.

I accessed the BIOS Setup Utility and loaded and saved the default settings.

no change

I have "dried out the cmos" by removing the power supply connection, the main battery and the onboard RTC battery. I held the power button for a minute.

no change

I have left the RTC battery out to "dry out" the cmos overnight. (old school)

no change

I have done everything and read  every topic about System Fan Error (90B) but I still have error message on boot.

Does anyone know how laptop generate that message and where it stored?

Does temperature sensor that detect error may be nonfunktion?

There is no Temperature alarm setup in BIOS.

Thanks

Hello

How do i remove my BIOS password from my HP Probook 650 G2 laptop?

Hello everyone, so first of all my English is not that good so i hope you understand what i say. Let me tell you what happened, 2 months ago my dad found this laptop in the streets in Germany, he took it home booted it, took pictures and everything was fine but it had a Windows password (in the login screen). He sent it to Greece (where i'm writing this) and i booted up the laptop and it had 2 WIndows accounts (they had a password in both of the accounts ofc). I was like "let's go to the BIOS to check what are the exact specs and check what settings it has" and i saw that it had an Administrative BIOS Password and i was like "**bleep**, i didn't expect that it would have a BIOS password, and there is NO WAY to remove the password myself". I also typed 3 times the password wrong and it didn't give me the 5-6 digit code. I tried removing the Windows login password from CMD but these guys enabled BItLocker on the C: drive and there was NO way to remove the BitLocker from the C: drive, and i had to fresh reinstall Windows 10. Everything was working fine after the fresh installation of Windows 10 and i thought reinstalling fresh Windows 10 would remove the BIOS password but it didn't. I have literally done EVERYTHING to remove the BIOS password but no luck. I tried contacting HP to give me the SMC.bin file but they don't send these anymore. I removed the CMOS Battery but it didn't work. I saw in a website and someone said that "HP ProBooks save the BIOS Passwords in a non-volatile chip, or it could be stored in the EEPROM chip" and again i was like "**bleep**, what do i do now?" the only thing i haven't done is to find the EEPROM chip and remove the BIOS Password from there (with something metallic i think?). I don't want to do that because i'm afraid that i could find the wrong chip and destroy the laptop. My last hope is to send it to my nearest tech shop and they could do that for me unless one of you or someone from the HP experts tell me a way to remove the BIOS Password. Sorry if this description was big but i wanted to tell as much as possible. Thanks for reading.

Boot device not found

Hello, i have a PROBOOK4540s. Suddenly getting blue screen with messages KERNEL DATA INPAGE ERROR and then KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED. The diagnostics made on the UEFI said that the hard drive failed, but when i removed the hard disk and checked it with an external drive, there were no problem. the hard disk was accessible. i managed to backup all important files and formatted the drive. when put back in the laptop, now getting a screen with boot device not found and the screen UEFI below.

IMG_1976.JPG

However i recall that the 1st UEFI screen i made the diagnostic of the drive before formatting was not like this. it was much more graphical. Now i am always getting this UEFI screen, after the system diagnostic still shows boot device not found - please install an operating system - Hard disk (3F0). i even disconnected the CMOS battery in an attempt to reset the BIOS, but at startup it never goes in the graphical bios. Same simplified UEFI is seen version 1.6.0.0 (seem an old version) Can you help on this? Is the hard drive still good and is the motherboard damaged?
