So recently when I turn my computer on it starts to load Windows and then will shut off. Each time the computer turns on it loads a little further so it'll get to my login screen shut off it restarts itself reloads and then it'll get to the home screen shut off and restart itself. On rare occasion it will load to where I can use it and it just randomly shuts off, but then it restarts itself.

David I need your help! I've been scouring the forums looking for a solution and tried bios pw website and can't get bios unlocked. Tried taking cmos battery out and it just said bios would be reset to default and reboot system. My disabled system code is

Buongiorno, ho un problema con il mio portatile HP DV5 1204em, in pratica dovrei mettere un SSD su questo portatile, ma il BIOS non mi permette di impostare nulla, quindi ho provato ad aggiornare il BIOS da f.35 ad F.38, anche se risulta l'installazione andata a buon fine, quando accedo al bios risulta SEMPRE F.35 come se non avesse aggiornato! Ma nelle impostazioni del pc risulta invece AGGIORNATO. Come posso fare?? Possibile che non possa in alcun modo installare SSD?

Can't boot my notebook
Hi, I was playing some games and watching some videos until my whole laptop suddenly froze. I gave it around half an hour and nothing would turn on. So I turned it off and on and got told that something was wrong with the hard disk drive. I looked up videos to fix this (resetting the BIOS settings and disabling legacy) but I kept getting the same message. I looked inside the laptop to see that nothing was wrong, but when I did a system check, I knew 100% it was the hard drive. That is what redirected me to this page. Please can you help me fix my laptop.

Hp touchsmart won't power up
I have a hp touchsmart. I had lost the charger and hadnt used for awhile. Just got another charger. When plugged up white light illuminates beside charging port, but will not charge battery or power computer. No lights come on at all. It was working fine the last time I used it. HP Note 3f0 error (Boot device not found) then bootup subsequently.
Problem:
Upon 3rd-4th startup, Notebook stucks on HP logo and keyboard light blinks for 6-7 times and black screen comes up with message "Boot device not found", upon pressing f2 , system diagnose open up and without doing anything (I repeat without doing anything) I exit and Windows starts up normally. This problem started since when I have installed Transcend 120gb SSD.

New laptop with expired warranty?
Hi,
I just bought a brand new, non refurbished but previous generation SPectre x2 (model number N5S21UA#ABA) from Amazon which arrived yesterday. Upon first start it had a cmos error, it booted on the second attempt but the HP Support Assistant says that the warranty has expired. The first Windows update took 5 hours before hanging at 99%. This morning it failed to install 2 out of 3 HP Support Assistant updates (Intel ME and Realsense camera) repeatedly and completely failed with Windows Updates, freezing numerous times.
I have to say that this is all rather frustrating. I havent even used the latop and yet the warranty has expired? That would be bad enough but the update issues just compound my frustations. It's a shame as I really want to be able to use the Spectre x2, it's beautiful, has a great screen, a fantastic keyboard etc but these issues are going to sour my opinion of HP and cause me to return the X2 and buy from a different manufacturer unless the situation is resolved.

Settings is frozen
I am unable to change my wireless connection but every time I pull up settings, a solid blue sceen with a nut in the middle of the page comes up. Nothing else happens. What is going on?! It is keeping me from being able to do anything else on my computer. I have only had this computer for a short time & used it minimally. I'm very disappointed.

Notebook suddenly stopped working, diags?
Screen suddenly went black. "Power" light is on. Charging light does not come on when charger is plugged in/switched on. There's about 20V at the charger's barrel connector. Have removed & replaced battery, re-seated memory, plugged in old spinning disk (pre-SSD, see other thread) and thought bad thoughts about the thing.
Any idea what further diagnostics might help, please, or what's wrong with it?

Laptop will not startup
Laptop will not start up. It seems to be stuck on a constant loop, I get the hp logo then a black screen with a message saying attempting to recover installation/restoring previous version of Windows. I get an error code of 0xc000000f when I enter the system recovery, but i dont have a recovery disc. Any ideas?

Frozen on "Preparing Automatic Repair"
Bought my hp laptop on Black Friday so only 3 months ago, has had little use and yesterday a notice shot up on the screen while I was on the computer saying an an error was detected so the computer was going to be automatically restarted, which it did and the screen came up with the hp logo with Preparing Automatic Restart. Nothing happened. I did a force shut down and the same thing happened. At a loss of what to do.

Static discharge locks up HP ENVY laptop keyboard input.
I have an HP ENVY laptop - Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, Intel Core i7-6500U CPU @ 2.50GHz, 816D (U3E1) Motherboard, Jan 2016 Born on Date, that has been in for HP warranty service twice for a keyboard lockup issue after which the Caps Lock light blinks 5 times (system board requires service). HP said they replaced the mobo during the second repair.
Six months later and out of warranty, it is now doing the same thing for a third time.
I think I have narrowed the cause down to static discharge. I am a professional "behind the curtain" tech director and PPT guy for large corporate shows. I have two of these computers (same exact models and mobos) side my side along with a ROC ASUS next to my on-air switcher. Anyone, not just me, can walk up to this computer and lock it up with a static discharge.
The same type of discharge does not affect the other two computers whether I'm in a convention center ballroom on carpet sitting at a table or in my office at a wooden desk on a hardwood floor.
Because the screen flickers during the static discharge, I first tried disabling the nVideo gfx chip then the Intel gfx chip and of course did mem tests and hd tests. I also installed new OS. No positive results.
If I approach the laptop and create a static spark as I touch the palm rest or screen bezel the keyboard locks up EVERY time.
The touch pad still works.
A blue tooth mouse still works.
I have even tested a blue tooth keyboard. It even worked after the lockup.
The laptop keyboard accepts no key presses.
The static discharge required to freeze this computer is not big. It's not a "oh my gosh that spark hurt" type of discharge from my finger.
Also, both HP ENVY computers have polished metal cases not plastic ones.
Besides wearing a grounding strap on my wrist when using this laptop does anyone have an idea how I can fix this issue?
