Bought a N15 F4T54EA#ABU laptop a few weeks ago.
I wanted a touchscreen laptop with reasonable specs to run Windows 8 properly. And do normal things, like use the Facebook app.
First logged into the Store and it basically pushed the upgrade to 8.1, so though as a new device I shouldn't have any upgrade issues. Facebook won't work on 8.
Installed it, and all I've had is issues. Slow updates, crashes, and no ability to access the Store. Spent too much time updating everything, which with the failures has taken weeks. Everything seems to run.........but still the Store never loads, just shows that 'busy ring'.
Still in this state I once again trawled through boards, and spotted something about someone with a laptop that support suggested wasn't compatable with 8.1 and was told by support to revert to Windows 8. So wondered if I needed to reinstall 8.1, so went to the HP site and went through the Windows 8.1 update screens. Which basically stated Windows 8.1 had not been 'tested' for this device. WTH?
Surely a brand new touchscreen AMD A8 laptop MUST be compatible with the OS designed for touchscreens????
I'm in a mknd to take this back to PC World and demand a refund stating the device is in breach of Trade Description Act, as it's not fit for the purpose it was sold. A modern touch screen laptop that doesn't run Windows 8.1? Somebody should lose their job over such a farce!
