Freezing for no reason?

Hello HP staff and customers:

I have come to this forums many times and is very nice and helps, but this is my first post. My PC came with windows 7 H.P. license and I upgraded to Windows 8.1 Pro (licensed). Since then I have had two issues so far:

1. My main issue, the computer randomly freezes but I can still move the mouse and I am able to open the alt+ctrl+del window pressing the buttons, but I can't click on the options because they are frozen too. This happens randomly, sometimes on Kingsoft Writer or just on the browser. Even with music, it freezes but music keeps playing. After waiting 2-3 minutes it comes back to normal.

2. My fingerprint driver does not work with Windows 8.1 Pro? When I click on enroll fingerprints it just says "Not enough storage is available to complete this operation". This computer is almost completely empty. In fact, i only have Kingosft software for ppt, excel and writer, mozilla firefox, network magic (Router Cisco software) and Vegas Pro for video editing. I mainly use this computer for university only things as I have a HP h8-1420t tower for my gaming.

I appreciate any attempt of help ...
