I purchased a new HP laptop model 2000 (2d70NR) on the 10th of January this year. It was originally a Windows 8.0 machine from the manufacturer with the AMD A4 Quad-core processor. After using it for about a week I recieved a message from Microsoft that 8.1 was available at the Windows Store. I,ve been told that this was an improvement over 8.0. I downloaded the upgrade on the 20th of January successfully. Since then though, while trying to do either homework, or even cruising the internet, the computer locks up solid and I have no control with anything other than forcing it to power down. I had no problems with the original version of Windows 8. I was wondering if I should un-install 8.1 or return the computer to the store as a disgruntled customer? Are there any patches to repair possible problems with 8.1? I'm just kind of miffed right now. Sorry for the long details. I appreciate any assistance.
