Hi. Had intermittent sleep mode failing to restart. Use button shut down/restart, plus choose 'Start Windows normally'.

PC showed dark/blank screen and mouse pointer.

Press 'Sleep mode'.

Press 'Escape'. System now back, up and running!

Windows auto sleeps (normal), but 'nothing' brings back Windows.

Use power button shutdown.

Button 'Restart Pc.'

Blank screen now shown, plus mouse pointer.

Press 'Sleep mode,' wait 2 mins, and then 'Esc,' Windows now works. (sometimes several attempts needed).

Downloaded Microsoft updates (Anti virus installed). System went into 'Restart'.

Bad problems follow;

Windows will 'not' fully restart, shows blank screen and mouse.

Have to use power button 'Shut down'.

Try 'all' 'F' key settings. No luck restarting, as Windows is locked.

Used 'Restore to factory settings' using keyboard, and the 3 discs. up to 5 times or more.

Windows reinstalls but fails to get past finalising loading Windows. Shows only (you guessed it): 'Blank screen and mouse'.

'ALL' 'F' key choices used (F10, F11, Safe mode etc etc.). 'All' fail, even 'Safe mode,' as message shows Windows is finalising systems restore, (or words to that effect), but does not get past the loading windows.

PC enters 'Restart', and goes back to blank screen white mouse.

'F' key used again to check SFC/SCANNOW, plus CHKDSK, plus a secondary boot disk which guarantees to resore failed Windows.

Disk says 'Problems found and repaired' but no problems in the Partition, but on extracting disk have to switch Pc off at button, and...... its back to the blank screen and mouse.

ALL this was done several times, but still the Pc will not get past loading up.

Pc sent away to be reparied. They used only the 'Factory reset' disks. Pc came back working!

I Down loaded Microsoft 'important' up dates. Pc went into normal 'Restart'.

Back to the blank screen, plus mouse pointer!

Bios all still at 'Default' setting.

Every other concievable check and attempts that I know using the discs, or 'Repair windows etc.etc. will not get past this Factory reset, loading windows, blank screen and mouse.
