I am having a serious issue with my HP Omen X 17-ap0xx. The laptop turns on and shows the OMEN logo, but then it gets stuck, and the spinning dots stop moving. I have tried factory resetting Windows, but after 4% it gives an error and does not complete. After reinstalling Windows, it reboots and gets stuck again.
I also encountered a CMOS checksum invalid (502) error before this happened, and I have already replaced the CMOS battery with a new one (CR2032). However, the problem persists.
Now, I believe that the BIOS is corrupted, and I need to reinstall the BIOS. I have already downloaded the sp144333.exe BIOS update from HP’s website and tried to install it on another working PC, but the installation does not proceed and disappears after extracting.
I need assistance to properly create a BIOS recovery USB from another PC and reinstall the BIOS on my HP Omen X. Could someone guide me through this? Is there another way to flash the BIOS if the HP BIOS Update tool does not work?
