My laptop recently started blue screening/crashing, and the only reason I can think of for this is the fact that I keep getting a little popup message saying "Low Disk Error HP_TOOLS (E: )". I checked under Computer to see how much space I have left under HP_TOOLS (E: ) and I have very little (3.95 MB out of 3.95GB) apparently and I'm not entirely sure what to do next.
*NOTE: I'm not sure if this has something to do with it, but lately my computer has started heating up faster...Once I left it closed (not on sleep/hibernate) for maybe...an hour or two and I came back & it was very hot & had blue screened.
I've deleted/uninstalled almost all of my unnecessary programs. I don't have a backup because it says there's no space for it(?) Some others have mentioned getting an external hard drive -which I'm seriously considering since they seem to be relatively cheap- but I have to ask;
What's wrong with my laptop? Is there a way to resolve this problem?
I should also mention that I've run into a similar blue screening/crashing problem before; I took this same laptop to a technician and they said it had a virus, which is hard to believe considering I had an antivirus scan almost daily (as I do now). I'm wondering if this is the same problem as before? I've run virus scans and nothing comes up, so...
Should I try and clear more space? Is there something I can do so that my laptop doesn't completely stop working without having to purchase an external hard drive? How?
I have a HP Pavilion g6-1d21dx Notebook PC.
Any help is much appreciated!
