Hey,
Just wondering if anyone knew what's going on with my laptop.
I brought my Hp Pavilion DV6 about 1yrs and half ago, so its fairly new. I try keeping all data on hardrives so not to clog it up so there's virtually nothing on there besides programmes. After 5 days of not using my laptop I pulled it out, I pressed the on/off button as usual and nothing happened not a single sound of the fan or touchpad lighting up. I took the battery out and put it back in again ...nothing happened. I then proceeded to take it out and use the adapter only as the main source of charge ... still nothing. As my tech friend advised me to do, I took the back cover off, removed memory cards, the small battery inside (looks like a watch battery) and put them back in after a while. STILL NOTHING HAPPENED. (Not sure of this is relevant but i did order a recall charger replacement after I found out that any adapter with LS-15 had to be replaced due to over heating hazards etc , which my laptop kept doing. But i was still sent another LS-15 i was assuming it would have a different number on it)
I was then adviced to leave it on charge overnight and see what happens in the morning. So I did.
At 9am in the morning, 9hours later. I opened the lid and it turned on. It was still trying to update from the last time I had it on, it finished its updates finally. However it was abit glitchy. I did the neccessary virus scans, no virus found. T did a restart and it was fine.
But when I shut it down and tried to use the on/off button it wouldnt switch on, no fan sound ... nothing again!!
So I waiting 9hours again, opened the lid and it turns on. I'm currently staying away from shutting it down and leaving it on sleep for now as I have no idea what's wrong with it and not willing to wait 9hours. It seems the lid is the only way for it to turn on.
Any advised from anyone.
Sorry for rambling on but needed to make sure I have every detail out.
P.s the battery led is working: white light for full charge and red/orange for charging - so it does work
Thanks in advance :-)
