I purchased my HP Pavilion G6 a little over a year ago. It has got to be the worst laptop I've ever owned in my life; within weeks of purchase, the computer began to exhibit problems.
It takes anywhere from 10-15 minutes for my log-in screen to pull up. After I input my password, it can take up to 20 minutes for my desktop to load. Once the desktop has completed loading, it can still take another 10 minutes for whatever program I opt to open to actually pull up and open. I called about this problem to HP Customer Support about a month after I purchased the computer, and was told it was a "known issue" with Microsoft Windows 8. I find this odd, because friends who own other devices running the same OS don't have any of these problems.
My synaptics touch pad will just arbitrarily quit working. The only way to regain control of my mouse after this is to use my wireless mouse (I prefer to use the synaptic touch pad because I rarely use my laptop at a desk).
I have 591 of 671 GB free, so I won't blame it on my hard drive lacking space. In fact, this computer really only gets used for email, Facebook, Reddit and Microsoft Office products; no gaming and no music/movie/any entertainment storage. This laptop is just a really terrible product and I'm frustrated that an item which I expect to last more than 12+ months already needs to be replaced.
This will be the last HP product I ever purchase. Lesson learned.
