Boot Error

My "hp compaq 6000pro SSF Dkt" with Intel Pentium Dull core E-6700 3.2GHz processor, windows 8.1 64bit, was working perfectly this morning.
As I was about leaving i decided to shut down.Mistakenly I click on "Sleep tab" instead of shutdown Knew this when i saw the power led still blinking.Inorder to shut down properly I pressed the power for the system return from sleep but the system refuse to respond. after much trial without success, i later hold down the power button to shutdown completely.

some seconds later I powered on the system and found the message below:

"Initializing Intel (R) Boot Agent GE v1.3.24 PXE 2.1 Build 086 (WfM 2.0)

F1:boot"

I waited for about 1 hour yet no response. I powered it again and tried entering SETUP this time but, the same message was displayed. when i removed the sata harddisk, i was able to go to SETUP. I carried a memory test in the setup environment and everything was ok. After exiting setup, the harddisk was reinserted yet the same message appeared. It was at this point I thought the harddisk is bad.
Immediately, i ordered for a new harddisk of the same brand and capacity and inserted. the system entered SETUP but hangs and none of the functions was responding. I restarted the system again and pressed F8, F10 to go to either safemode or setup but all failed, the same message displayed.

Please can someone help, me on how to fix this problem and what could be the cause?
this laptop has no problem since i have been using it.

Many thanks.
