Hi, I updated the AMD drivers for my HP Pavilion dv6t-6b00. Driver downloaded was: amd-catalyst-14-9-win7-win8.1-64bit-dd-ccc-whql.exe
However, when the installation completed, graphics capacities were severely limited. The screen resolution settings were reduced to a maximum value of 1024x768 (well below the monitor's original resolution). I got the following error message: "No AMD Graphics driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning propertly. Please install the AMD driver appropriate for your AMD hardware. " This did not make sense, as the above driver is the latest for my GPU, Radeon HD 6770M.
Also, I could not access the Catalyst Control Center. I got the following message:
"AMD Catalyst Control Center cannot be started.
There are currently no settings that can be configured using AMD Catalyst Control Center.
Fortunately, I've been able to restore my system. I would very much appreciate some advice on how to update the driver.
Thanks,
John
