I have had my HP laptop for a couple of years now and the other night it was running a bit hot (fan was working overtime) so I turned it off and plugged the charger in to charge up the battery overnight. The next morning, my laptop is completely dead - it will not turn on or show any charge light from where the AC cord attachs. I tried holding the power button down, taking the battery out, etc and it is completely dead. It is like this when the battery is completely flat but there is nothing lighting up on the side when I plug it in for charging. I took the battery out and plugged the charger in and got a blue light briefly (tried the power button and it tried to start up) but, then I put the battery in as it was doing this and the light turned orange and it died again. I have ordered a new battery but am now starting to think the power cord is not working - any suggestions??
