I had just gotten onto my HP Pavilion 15-n008tx Notebook to use it, and it was running rather slow. I was supposed to talk to a friend who was overseas at the time, and went to launch Skype. On launching, the computer froze. Having little experience with computers, I decided to turn it off, wait 5 minutes for it to cool down, and turn it back on. It then came up with the HP logo, stuck in a 15-30 minute loading period saying "Preparing automatic repair". After giving up on it, I rebooted the computer again, only to find the HP logo, with a loading sign, yet it didn't say anything at the bottom of the screen. After some time, I rebooted it for a second time to find "Preparing automatic repair" at the bottom of the screen again. Every time I reboot the computer, it alternates between these 2 screens. After extensive waiting, the "Preparing automatic repair" screen switched to a screen, with a Windows 8'ish feel to it. I cannot even vaguely recall the options on the screen, apart from ones such as "system reset" and such. I tried the system reset, but a message came up stating that the hard drive had failed. I looked up some tutorials, and eventually got to the "BIOS" screen, and ran a diagnostics test. The test failed after about 10 seconds due to an error in the hard drive. I managed to record an error code. It has been about 3 weeks since the laptop first failed.
Error code: RLL7J1-6TD79A-MFPWXF-60A703
(I was unable to find anyone else with this error code as a problem)
