I haven't had a problem with my computer since I bought it in September 2013 but just two days ago after the HP assistant program showed me a bunch of updates I was suppose to download and install my computer started acting up by going to sleep and not resuming when I touch the mouse pad. It then escalted to not shutting down properly.
I immediately searched for forums on how to solve this problem and some included updating the BIOS or whatever that was and I did that to turning off the fast boot option under the power options. When I opened it in safe mode and the screen would go dark after being idle and I touch the mouse it would resume back without a hitch.
Long story short, I've gone to the extreme of re-installing everything but IT STILL DOES NOT SHUT DOWN. Its annoying because I leave home for school and come back late just to find out the fan has been running still.
Is there any solid solution to this problem?
