New HP G3 250 working slow

Hey guys,

I picked up a new laptop for school assignments etc. So this laptop seemed to be the best for normal browsing / wordprocessing use.

It was shiped with  i3 with 2GB RAM, with Windows 8 (64-bit) installed. (i purchased it brand new)

It seems like it's working miserably slow. I know 2GB is minimum requirements for 64-bit

I've always  preffered 32-bit for slower systems and anything with less than or 2GB ram. But according to the HP website, the drivers are only provided for 64-bit system. ( I was thinking 64-bit might be too heavy for this system, and installing 32-bit would be better).

I've used Windows 8  on systems with 1GB ramn, and Core2Duo processors. And they worked more snappy than this.

  1. I haven't installed any additional software other than chrome on this laptop, and opening a webpage takes quite some time to load, even whilst typing the website link in the bar there is a major key input lag
  2. Chrome installed is 32-bit. I've noticed that the Display Driver is crashing, and i keep getting a notification.
  3. Microsoft Office 2013 takes 2+ Hours and still doesn't install.
  4. Battery Charges to 99% within an hour, (even the first charge). It doesn't show 100%. It Took an hour for the battery to drop from 99% to 30% while trying to install Ms. Office 2013  and then at 30% the laptop just shut off, (discharged). Seems like battery calibration is needed, but it's not there in the diagnostics boot menu. ( I will have to install the HP Utility to do it )
  5. The warranty claim is valid till July 2015 (10 Months from now) whereas it should be 12months, as per the company website.

Would be great if i could get some help. I will be consulting the retailer today.
