Display goes blank on removing the power

I have a "HP Pavilion dv5-1002au" laptop with Windows 7 as the operating system. This is about 4-5 years old laptop. The laptop was showing warning to change the battery during startup and was also not giving backup more than 10 minutes on full charge. Therefore I replaced the battery with a new "Lapcare" brand battery.

Now the problem I am facing is that even though the battery is fully charged, when I remove the power supply the display dissappears and if there is any song playing then the sound also stops.

Nothing happens after inserting the power again. The only thing I can do is hold the power button to make the laptop off and then start it again.

There was one more problem that the laptop was not starting without power and the scroll lock and caps lock was blinking twice repeatedly, but after reading the forums and Doing a HARD RESET the problem was solved.

I searched very much on all forums but could not find any help regarding my current issue.

Today I thought it might be windows problem and installed ubuntu as my secondary operating system. And what I see, the system was working absolutely fine and gave about 1 & half hours of backup.

Now I really don't know what to do, Please help so that I can avail the service of my new battery on Windows.

Thanks in advance.
