I made this thread a day or so ago first in the hardware section, but maybe it would be more appropriate here. My laptop was shutting down suddenly shortly after startup before and telling me my fan wasn't working. So, I finally got a replacement fan and put it in. I had tried cleaning out the old fan before and when I put everything back together then the only problem was the fan still, everything else was fine. When I turn it on now I can hear the new fan working well, the power cord is functional and charging the battery, I'm not getting any error messages, and the internal temperature is still pretty low, much less than how hot it was when it was shutting down before. However, now the screen goes black soon after turning it on and shortly after that it shuts down. I can sometimes make it as far as my desktop loading normally, but not always. There's no warning of any kind that anything is wrong before this happens. The LED lights seem to come on normally too. Once the screen goes black, the fan seems to speed up a bit until the laptop finishes shutting down. I already tried multiple times to start it again, with a large interval between attempts a few times and I tried a hard reset too. Does anybody know what might be causing this to happen?
