Pavillion G7 Desktop flashing

I have a Pavillion g7 laptop running windows 8. I went to use it last night and i'm set for automatic updates so that is what it did.

This morning I decided since updates were done I would get to work and when I unlocked my screen I didn't even go to the windows 8 home screen. It went right to my desktop screen and begins flashing. It flashes between this screen and a Turquoise screen. The icons on the desktop page go white when its on that screen and when it turns turquoise its blank. I cannot click on anything and it flashes between these screens about every 2 seconds. The circle turns at the mouse arrow and continues as if its busy.

I would love to send it out if need be but the last time I did that they wiped out programs such as microsoft office and never replaced it, even though it came with the programs. When I called and reported this they said "well we just reprogrammed it with the cd we were given and this program wasn't on the cd". Well I am less than impressed because a 4 month old computer at the time that once had this program no longer did therefore I had to purchase it!

Anyways cam you please help me figure out what I cam do to fix this or tell me whats causing this.?
