I have a new HP laptop with Windows 8.1 (HP Pavilion 15-n273sa TouchSmart Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR) ).
It has been very good but for one problem - when I use the touchpad without pausing 5-10 minutes after loading the PC, it causes a BSOD error.
I can't remember the exact BSOD message, but I googled it and it is apparently a well known HP problem - something to do with the Synaptics drivers. I've tried updating to the latest versions, but it makes it worse - no 5-10 minute pause available any more, it just crashes as soon as I touch the track-pad.
Instead, I unistall the driver and everything is great for a month or two as the default MS drivers kick-in then you sneakily re-install the driver (I've tried all settings to block this and can't find the right one) and it crashes when I try to use the laptop.
Please help either by fixing the driver issue or by telling me how I can PERMANENTLY remove the Synaptics software.
