A friend of mine has a CQ56. He always used it without battery becase someone talked to him about preserving battery life.
One day he couldn't able to start it up. Caps Lock was blinking twice. He tried to hard reset it but no luck.
After that he figured it out that he can able to charge the battery up and the notebook can work from battery if the charger is not put in.
Then he showed it to me and asked to try fixing it somehow. I was able to install a windows instance, test the RAM and so on but once i put the charger in then the laptop shut off immediatelly. I tried another charger, RAM, hdd but no luck.
However the device works from battery only without problem. Simple looks like a charger circuit problem. The warranty is exceeded and he wouldn't like to pay for a new mainboard.
Is there any trick or cheap fixing method? Any help would be appriciated. Thanks! (sorry for my English)
