HP Support,
I was working as usual on my laptop and it restarted by itself. I thought that was odd as it was on adapter power.
Upon reboot I enter my password in the lockscreen and everything appeared to be ok as it booted up and suddenly went black.
I shut the system down manually and then attempted to restart it.
I got nothing. The Hdd light blinks once. There is no Bios startup screen. Plenty of power and the fan can be heard running.
I was about to open it up and replace the Bios chip, but thought it best to talk to you to make sure this is what I need to do.
Does my system support Bios Recovery? I tried the win/B/ power combo. No Joy.
I have a Pavilion dv6265us laptop
There are no error messages. The HD light blinks once.
Vista (the latest)
no recent hardware changes
Please help as I would like to be able to access the HDD from this machine before I engage in the monsterous task of transferring data from backups.
Thank You
CYII
