HP Pavilion DV-6B63US Startup Issue

Okay, so I was watching a youtube video when my PC froze and stuttered the audio. I assume it overheated because the area around the power button was hot to the touch. I shut it down, let it cool off and it booted right up. After that, I decided to prevent it from happening again I should clean the dust out. I followed a disassembly video and cleaned my fan. After reassembling it, it failed to boot. The light near the charging port is on, and so is my caps lock light. It's not blinking at all, solid as soon as I plug in the charger. I've tried a hard reset and tried using my fully charged battery without the cord. To no avail. Any ideas what could be going wrong?

Edit** I plugged in the battery and noticed that the charging light is now solid amber. The caps lock buton light is now not on at all. Does that mean the battery is dead and it's charging? Still doesn't make sense when it should still turn on without a battery as long as it's connected.
