I had the laptop for one day and in the process of doing automatic updates and installing iTunes, it rebooted and never got to a Windows 8 start screen again. One of two things happens:
1. It turns on and goes to the blue hp logo with a spinning wheel under it and will stay like that forever (I let it go over night).
2. It goes to the HP logo with "preparing automatic repair" with a spinning wheel then goes black and never does anything else (though I can see the mouse or touch the screen). I've also waited a couple of hours for it in this mode.
The laptop is refurbished, purchased through Tiger Direct, does not have a DVD drive and did not come with any media. You can't boot into safe mode (Shift F8). Any advice?
Thanks.
