dv7t-7300 CTO Quad Edition

I've bought this notebook (dv7t-7300 CTO Quad Edition) since 8 months, it came with windows 8 64-bit OS, first thing i did was installing some updates (windows 8.1 was one of them).

Then every time i'm working on it, at no specific time, the screen would go black with the backlight on.

Only way to make it come back to life is to power cycle the notebook, later i found out taking it to sleep or hibernate and turning it back on would sometimes work too, but i will lose all unsaved data either way as the user logs out somehow.

I've lost lots of unsaved work and time this way.

I tracked this issue down to the nvidia graphics driver, i tried installing latest drivers from nvidia website, but this didn't fix the issue.

Only way i found to make the notebook usable for more than a couple of hours was to reinstall this driver every time windows starts.

I kept waiting for updates from HP and i thought this was a common issue HP would take care of with an update, but it seems to be an isolated issue and the driver i find on HP website is always the same old 2013-11-08 nvidia drivers.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
