HP Pavilion 17-e118dx: Touchpad right clicking and freezing randomly

Hello,

My brand new notebook touchpad (synaptics) mouse right clicks at random times and stalls for a second. I have updated the BIOs, updated the drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and restored to a point in the past where this problem was not occuring. I have a HP Pavilion 17-118dx notebook with windows 8.1. The clicker used to freeze but after I updated the bios and synaptics driver it now opens the right click menu at random times and lags for a second.
