Laptop Envy M6 - Windows 8.1 - Start up problem (after working well)
- switch on & get a dark grey screen with HP sign & timer.
- instead of fingerprint light flashing, get a dialog box on grey screen saying 'this computer is configured to require a password in order to start up. Please enter the start up password below' - with 'ok' or 'restart' button to click once entered. Can enter my password, but have NO CURSOR to click either option!
- press enter after inserting pw three times, and comp. appears to restart.
- HP sign & 'preparing automatic repair' - few seconds
- HP sign & 'diagnosing your computer' - few seconds
- Automatic Repair - your pc did not start correctly - 'restart' or 'advanced options', with cursor
- Click 'Advanced options'
- Click 'Troubleshoot'
- Click 'Advanced Options'
- Click 'Start up settings'
- Press F4 to start in safe mode
- Get the HP sign & the dialog box that I had in the first place, asking for a password, with no cursor!
- Have to go through it all again to click the option to 'Turn off Pc'
- Please help!
