Hi there,
My query concerns a HP G62 laptop which is running Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit).
For a while now, the laptop has been freezing shortly after starting up. I can usually do a few functions, for example I have managed to open the control panel and uninstall a program, on another occasion I was able to delete some files, and on another I was able to open Microsoft Word and do some typing. There appears to be no specific 'trigger' that causes the freeze, but it is usually within 1-10 minutes of the computer booting up.
I have never seen an error message.
In the hope of rectifying the issue, I have deleted all files and most programs from the computer, (it took ages as I had to keep rebooting!) and I have also ran both the Hard Disk and Memory tests from the Bios. I also ran a memory test (Memtest?) which I saw recommended on here which got to around 18% with no errors before it froze.
I've attempted a system restore a few times but it always freezes before it can complete the restore.
Any help on how I can get this working again would be much appreciated. Please let me know if any further information is needed.
Thank you very much,
Mel
