My Compaq Cq62-A20D (2010) went to sleep, as normal. By waking it up, it seemed like it started up normal, we heard the fan blowing very loud, and then...nothing. No responses to whatever key is pressed. Then, after pressing the power button for more then 4 secs it was turned off.
After some colling down, just to be sure, I turned it on, or at least tried that. No response, just the fan started blowing for 2 secs, and then nothing.
So, what did I do now: (when I say No Response, it always means after the powerbutton is pressed, the fan starts blowing, only the power-led goes on, and the fan stops, and the scren stays black)
- Power out, battery out, 60 seconds on power button, power back: no response
- other power cable, with and without battery: no response
- swapped and removed memory units (there were two, working for three years): no response
- Took out the harddrive: no response.
- Pressed Esc/F2/F10/F11/F8 during startup: no response
- Opened it up, cleaned the fan, visually checked every (flat cable) connection, closed it: No response
- Tried another harddrive: no response
- Switched it on, covered the fan opening so t would become hot and switch on the fan: That resulted in switching on the fan, but no startup.
- Used an external screen on serveral of the above attempts: no result
- Put in an original Windows 8 install DVD. I heard the dvd spin for a while, and then it stopped. Then it started, and it stopped and kept repeating this.
- unplugged the CMOS battery: no result
So far now, I'm out of options. Is there anything else I can try? Or can I check some other (hardware) parts?
