HP ENVY TouchSmart M7-J010DX
Hello,
I recently received an update via HP that instructed me to update my BIOS, which I did. Now, after I turn on my machine all I see is a black screen. The power light is on and the fan seems to be working (as I can feel heat from the vent). I have a pretty good feeling this recent BIOS update may have done something which caused this, and i would like to undo any BIOS updates, if possible.
I reviewed and tried everything I found on this page from HP's troubleshooting site, except the memory modules part as I did not make any recent changes to the memory modules. None of these suggestions helped with the black screen issue.
The machine was factory reconditioned, and I've had it for about a month, but only started using it recently. The only changes I have made are to the HDD: I recently picked up a new SSD, added it to the machine, and made the HDD the machine came with a secondary drive (after wiping it). Everything was working perfectly fine until the BIOS update.
I am not sure what else I should do/try at this point.
Any suggestions?
