Hi all,
I was cleaning out the fan and replacing the thermal gease on the processor on a friend's G6, because it was running hot, but when I put it back together it wouldn't start, or even show lights on the CTRL and wireless buttons.
I pulled it back apart, and realized that like a total idiot I'd forgot to plug the fan back in. Unfortunately, even with the fan plugged in, is still wont' start.
Needless to say, I've tried a hard reboot, but without any success.
Is there some kind of fuse in the power button that might have blown? (I know this happened to a friend's Toshiba laptop when it overheated but I don't suppose HP has any decent safety features like that.)
Do you think it is fixable, or am I up for a new motherboard.
Cheers.
