Professional Disc Jockey (Yes, Folks... I'm the 'Real Deal' / 25 Yrs in the Business) Encountering Consistent Problem with my Pavilion G7-2215dx USB 3.0 Port.
Connected to Either USB 3.0 Port is my Seagate Backup Plus 3 TB HD. (USB 3.0) The Problem that Continues to Re-Occur:
When Running my DJ'ing Program (Virtual DJ Pro 7, or Serato DJ 1.6.2) Along with the HD Controlling Software; The Drive will Enter into a 'Sleep' Mode. When this Occurs, Windows 8.1 Opens a 'File Explorer Window of the HD Root Contents' (Identical to when Connecting the Drive to the Port, for the First Time) This 'Temporary Sleep Mode', Results in Both DJ'ing Programs to Malfunction: Virtual DJ Pro 7 - (Manually Entered Information to Overwrite or Correct Data Fields Such as: Song Title/Artist Title/Album Name/Etc, Etc) Revert back to Original Uncorrected Status. Serato DJ - Drive Folder Completely Disappears, and Can No Longer be Accessed without Shutting Down and Restarting the Program.
Contacted both Software Manufacturers for Each DJ'ing Program, as well as the Technical Support Dept for the Portable HD. Even after changing the Settings on both the Controlling Software for the Connected HD, as well as the Port Settings within Windows 8.1; The Drive STILL Enters this 'Suspended Sleep Mode' state.
I Would like Re-Install the Drivers for the USB 3.0 Port(s). Hopefully this will be the Solution, that I have DESPERATELY been Searching for. All Responses / Suggestions Would be Greatly Appreciated. Thanks!!! :robotlol:
